Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Rockford, IL is seeking a Warehouse/Material Handler to verify shipments, prepare items for shipping, and manage inventory using RF scanners and SAP systems. The role includes forklift operation, pallet handling, and training on the 1st shift for up to 30 days, with a 2nd shift schedule (Mon-Fri, 3 PM–11 PM).

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, 1–2 years logistics experience, and strong math and organizational skills. Competitive benefits and 401(k) available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• U.S. Citizenship required to access information.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in warehousing/logistics.
• Rf scanner experience.
• MS Windows experience preferred.
• Basic math calculations.
• Knowledge of SAP systems.
• Warehousing/logistics experience with forklift.

Responsibilities

• Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Prepares items for direct shipping or delivery according to customer specifications.
• Counts, sorts, and records inventory quantities and types of materials received, stored and issued.
• Prepares material for storage.
• Stores materials with identifying information.
• Adds preservatives where needed.
• May cut or prepare materials for inspection samples.
• Unpacks and examines shipments; notifies supervisor of damage and coordinates with shippers.
• Delivers items to the appropriate department or locations.
• Loads/unloads trucks and pallets using hand and power equipment.
• Safely operates all assigned equipment.
• Operates weigh scales, stretch wrapper, and relevant printing equipment.
• Knows proper parts handling and cleanliness requirements.
• Patch checks parts as required.
• Uses inventory control procedures for tooling and gages.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
• 2nd Shift, Mon-Fri 3PM-11PM; training on 1st shift up to 30 days.
