Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 3 for the Iuka, MS site to support SkillBridge and entry-to-mid level manufacturing tasks. The role involves reading blueprints, fabricating using calibrated tools, and ensuring quality on the shop floor.

You'll work a shift schedule (including evenings or weekends) with potential shift differentials. This position offers exposure to aerospace manufacturing, teamwork, and hands-on growth opportunities within NG’s Aeronautics Systems sector.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with at least 4 years of experience in hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, or systems in aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance.
• Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical work, including lifting up to 35 pounds, bending, stooping, and working at heights.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must successfully complete ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance.
• Must be able to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints.
• Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies including precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools.
• Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
• Perform part-fitting operations: filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
• Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
• May modify assemblies to incorporate changes and verify quality per process controls.
• Daily use of manufacturing shop controls and systems.
• Use appropriate PPE on the shop floor.
• Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods and equipment performance.
