Job summary

All Aviation Jobs in Goleta, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support fabrication and assembly of mechanical components for large aerospace assemblies. The role includes setting up and testing prototype units and subassemblies, analyzing data, and collaborating with engineers on calibration and rework.

Candidates should have strong hand-tool skills, the ability to read drawings, and experience with testing equipment. This contract position is on-site with relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen.
• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to read, write and work to English instructions.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds.
• Able to stand for extended periods and on varying shifts.
• Flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts as manufacturing schedules demand.
• Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and motivated for excellence.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability and reading engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with hand tool techniques and safety, and basic torque concepts.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate or assemble mechanical components for large assemblies.
• Set up and test prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
• Analyze data and recommend modifications to components or test procedures.
• Assist engineers in development of mechanical designs and fabrications.
• Perform manufacturing operations including calibration, rework and quality testing.
• Use data programs to collect/evaluate operating data and adjust products.
• Develop methods to control or modify the manufacturing process.
• Handle and manage fragile composite materials.
• Note usage, traceability, pot life, and out time controls on adhesives.
• Report data and interface with other employees and departments.
• Read and interpret manufacturing/engineering drawings and shop plans.
• Assist in maintaining shop appearance and cleanliness.
