Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Iuka, MS seeks a Manufacturing Technician 2 to support our Aeronautics Systems manufacturing operations. You will read blueprints, fabricate structural assemblies, align parts on jigs, and perform precision drilling and finishing tasks with calibrated tools.

The role requires physical stamina, strict attention to quality, and the ability to work various shifts. Candidates should have relevant experience in aerospace or related manufacturing environments and be able to obtain

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of experience in hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, or systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
• Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work (bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, etc.)
• Must obtain/maintain U.S. Government Secret level clearance; U.S. Citizenship required
• Complete ASTAR New Hire Training/Compliance within defined period
• Ability to work any shift

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints
• Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies with precision drilling, countersinking, and calibrated tools
• Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
• Perform part-fitting operations including drilling, riveting, reaming and more
• Measure parts with precision tools to verify dimensions
• Modify assemblies to incorporate changes and verify quality per control procedures
• Daily use of manufacturing shop controls and systems
• Use of PPE on the shop floor
• Suggest and implement continuous improvement in production methods and equipment
