Job summary

GE Aerospace in Grand Rapids is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to drive inspection, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement across the production lifecycle.

You will lead FMEA, support design reviews, and ensure compliance with AS9100 and NADCAP while interfacing with cross-functional teams. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in quality or process engineering and U.S. citizenship or clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; or high school diploma with 7+ years in manufacturing/production.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering and/or Process Engineering.
• U.S. Citizenship or current US Government Security Clearance is required; preference for those with a clearance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.
• Collaborate with other Manufacturing Quality Engineers, providing guidance, training, and feedback as needed.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality control systems and procedures throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis and corrective / preventive actions for complex quality issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and SPC.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP), GE Aerospace policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, production readiness reviews, and supplier quality audits to mitigate quality risks.
• Develop and analyze quality metrics, preparing reports and presenting findings to senior leadership.
• Lead FMEA and control plan development for new and existing products.
• Act as a primary contact for customer quality concerns and interface with regulatory bodies during audits.
