Job summary
Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop, implement, and optimize processes for aerospace machined components at our Cheshire, CT site. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, CNC Programming, and Production to establish methods, routings, travelers, and work instructions for repeatable, high-quality production.
The role emphasizes manufacturing readiness, NPI involvement, and driving improvements in quality, throughput, delivery, and cost while supporting
Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or production engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, models, and technical requirements.
- Knowledge of process development, routing creation, and production workflow planning.
- Experience with troubleshooting and process optimization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for aerospace components and assemblies.
- Establish methods, process flows, routings, travelers, operation sheets, and work instructions.
- Review drawings and customer requirements to determine manufacturing approaches.
- Support manufacturing readiness activities for new and existing products.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and implement corrective actions to improve process performance.
- Collaborate across Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Production to resolve issues.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and product launches.
- Drive continuous improvement focusing on quality, throughput, delivery, cost, and performance.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation and process control records.
- Assist with tooling implementation, process validation, and capacity improvement.
- Support floor activities and act as a technical resource for production teams.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives.
