Job summary

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Chatsworth, CA.

You will support production, diagnose and resolve issues, and drive improvements across engineering, production and quality to ensure reliable, cost-effective manufacturing of aerospace products. The role requires 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and the ability to travel about 50% for the next 18 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with electromechanical products.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing and fabrication of various components.
• Strong knowledge of materials, processes, and specifications for precision aerospace parts.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings and GD&T.
• Ability to travel ~50% for 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support to production and test issues.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Translate drawings, specifications, prototypes into manufacturing methods and tooling.
• Develop manufacturing plans, work instructions and BOMs for new/modified products.
• Design tooling and fixtures using SolidWorks to support production and testing.
• Lead manufacturing engineering activities for new product introductions.
