Job summary

Superior Thread Rolling Co. in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee planning and cost estimating for manufacture-complete parts. You will manage master BOMs, change logs, and training aids, and negotiate pricing with customers within set limits.

The role requires lean, TOC, and GD&T expertise, plus Catia/CAD proficiency. Responsibilities include releasing routers, creating quotes, keeping planning docs up to date, and supporting sales with pricing decisions while driving

Qualifications

• 5 years combined experience in engineering, planning, machining, and inspection in aerospace environments.
• Degree in Manufacturing Engineering preferred; prior management in aerospace manufacturing desired.
• Ability to read blueprints and translate requirements to manufacturing plans.
• Familiarity with lean, cellular manufacturing, single-piece flow, and theory of constraints.
• AS9100 knowledge for routers, inspection records, and revision control; GD&T understanding.
• Experience with Catia and CAD; ability to draft sketches and shop aids; strong English writing.

Responsibilities

• Release accurate MFG Routers, Inspection Plans, and related docs to ensure profitable, on-time delivery.
• Create precise MFG quotes to set the company up for success.
• Maintain planning master data, change requests, and time change logs.
• Support Sales in pricing negotiations balancing customer satisfaction and profit.
• Consult with Manufacturing on takt time estimates and machining methods.
• Promote 6S and continuous improvement across the facility.
• Coach and evaluate team members; manage performance and development.
• Assist management in continuous improvement initiatives and vendor support.
