Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, a Boeing subsidiary, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate fabrication and assembly plans with suppliers, engineering, and shop teams in Wichita, Kansas.

You will develop tooling, define process sequences, and ensure proper BOMs and work instructions while collaborating with engineering to resolve producibility issues. Experience in aerospace and Catia is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Aerospace knowledge is preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing engineering is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Develops tooling, interchangeability, replacement, and functional test plans.
• Defines sequences of events and creates work instructions, datasets, tooling requirements, and bills of material.
• Communicates with engineering teams to influence design concepts and coordinates change incorporation to optimize processes.
• Demonstrates configuration control of hardware within the manufacturing build plan.
• Applies process knowledge in composite non-metallic, electrical/electronics, machining, sheet metal, or systems and structures.
