Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience.
• 1-2 years supervisory experience; preferred in manufacturing.
• Experience in quality systems preferred.
• Math skills including decimals, percentages, fractions, ratios.
• Knowledge of aerospace specifications and practices preferred.
• Supervisory experience in aerospace manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads, supervises and directs workers in assigned areas.
• Key member of production staff.
• Insures a safe working environment.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Confers with other supervisors, managers and leads to coordinate activities.
• Confers with quality assurance and engineering on production issues.
• Attends meetings as scheduled.
• Performs activities of workers supervised.
• Sets up machines and equipment.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Maintains harmony among workers and resolves concerns.
• Communicates and documents potential personnel issues timely.
• Completes annual reviews of personnel.
• Maintains time and attendance records in computer database.
• Supports company values and ownership of actions.
• Supports the team in learning and development.
• Recommends improvements to production methods and equipment.
• Standardizes procedures to increase efficiency.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste policy and procedures.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste characteristics and storage.
• Ability to shut down operations.
• Requisitions and maintains department supplies.
• Proper handling and management of hazardous waste.
• Performs other duties as directed.
