Job summary

6 Degrees Search on behalf of a premier aerospace manufacturer seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager in the New York area. The role leads a team of manufacturing engineers, drives process improvements, and partners with operations, quality, and supply chain to deliver cost-effective, high-quality production.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, and proven leadership in aerospace or precision manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Associate's considered with relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• Experience leading or supervising teams.
• Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, workflows, and production processes
• Estimate production times, labor requirements, equipment needs, and manufacturing costs
• Create and maintain CAD models and manufacturing documentation using CATIA V5 or similar CAD software
• Generate engineering drawings and product structures that accurately reflect customer requirements
• Establish manufacturing tolerances and process documentation
• Support production and subcontractors with engineering solutions and technical guidance
• Coordinate engineering priorities with Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Production teams
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and waste reduction
• Resolve manufacturing challenges through analytical problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards
