Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Summer 2027 Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support the machining, assembly, and production efforts on a small, fast-moving team. You will gain hands-on experience, own tasks, and contribute to solving challenging engineering problems in a dynamic environment.

You must be an academic Junior or above by May 2027 with a background in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering, plus CAD/CAM exposure and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering.
• Must be an academic Junior or above by May 2027 (experience with mechanics of materials, production equipment, CAD, and CAM)
• Excellent with root cause analysis with mechanical systems.
• Hands-on build and machining experience.
• Demonstrated teamwork and ability to communicate effectively in a group setting.
• Drive to continuously improve technical and team skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the dynamic environment of manufacturing, assembly, and production on the Machining Manufacturing Engineering team.
• Assist with solving engineering problems in a fast-moving setting.
• Gain hands-on experience and participate in decision-making and process improvements.
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure efficient machining processes.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in technical performance and teamwork.
