Job summary

GE Aerospace invites you to join a Manufacturing Engineering Internship, based in Lafayette, Indiana. You will build a strong technical foundation in manufacturing and assembly, with exposure to new product integration, technology, and continuous improvement, potentially leading to MEDP/OMLP post-graduation.

You will learn Lean and Six Sigma, support engine assembly, and work on cost-out initiatives while developing project management and negotiation skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• GPA minimum 3.0 (4.0 scale).
• Enrolled in a full-time accredited bachelor’s or graduate program.
• Willingness to work at 35+ GE Aerospace U.S. locations.
• Reliable transportation to sites with limited public transit.

Responsibilities

• Learn state-of-the-art methods of manufacturing.
• Support manufacturing and repair processes for components and engine assembly.
• Maintain quality via risk assessment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and SPC.
• Ensure safe work conditions through EHS initiatives.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma to drive productivity and on-time delivery.
• Support delivery for sourced components with shops and suppliers while building project management and negotiation skills.
