Job summary

RTX is seeking a manufacturing engineering intern/coop focused on Sterling Operations. You will support continuous improvement, design tooling and work instructions, and collaborate with production teams to address process issues.

You will gain hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, time studies, and cross-functional projects, contributing to kaizen events and process improvements under guidance from leadership.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience with CAD design/software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement activities for Sterling Operations.
• Design and update standard tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and workflows to enhance production efficiency.
• Collaborate with production personnel to identify and address process issues.
• Participate in CORE engagements, time studies, and other improvement initiatives.
• Assist with various manufacturing engineering and operations improvement projects as needed.
