Job summary

RTX is seeking a student intern in Sterling, VA, to join the Manufacturing Engineering team onsite. You will work on continuous improvement, tooling, and workflows to boost production efficiency.

You'll gain hands-on experience with Lean methodologies, time studies, Kaizen events, and cross-functional projects, collaborating with production and leadership.

The program offers exposure to CAD design and MS Office, with a path toward full-time opportunities upon graduation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session.

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement activities for Sterling Operations.
• Design and update standard tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and workflows to enhance production efficiency.
• Collaborate with production personnel to identify and address process issues.
• Participate in CORE engagements, time studies, and other improvement initiatives.
• Assist with various manufacturing engineering and operations improvement projects as needed.
