Job summary

UmbraGroup-Thomson Aerospace & Defense (Linear Motion, LLC) seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to write and edit manufacturing plans and design tooling for complex parts. You will develop fixtures, bills of materials, and process documentation for precision production.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field, hands-on CNC and grinding experience, and strong problem-solving abilities. Travel may be required; CAD tools and Siemens NX proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related STEM field required.
• Experience in conventional CNC machining and grinding preferred; non-conventional machining and heat treatment experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain manufacturing plans, sketches, and BOMs for detailed parts and assemblies.
• Redesign or design tooling to support manufacture of parts and assemblies.
• Support manufacturing through MRB decisions, design activities, and troubleshooting.
• Enter new jobs into the MRP system with materials, bills of material, costing and routing.
• Maintain SPC and participate in 5S and lean manufacturing activities.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment and develop new manufacturing methods per program needs.
