Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking an Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer to design, fabricate, and commission manufacturing tools for aerospace flight hardware. You will lead problem-solving initiatives and coordinate with supplier teams to ensure production readiness across lines.

The role emphasizes lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, and end-to-end process improvements, with a focus on quality, cycle time reductions, and efficient production support on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering
• 4+ years hardware development or space/aerospace environment experience
• 4+ years working with external suppliers
• 4+ years driving process improvements
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, 5Y, FMEA, PDCA, VSM) and problem solving
• Experience with test plan development and test benches

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and commission manufacturing tools for aerospace hardware
• Lead root cause analysis to resolve defects and non-conformances
• Apply lean tools to optimize production processes
• Lead design, schedule, and prioritization discussions
• Serve as main contact for supplier production teams on schedule, design, qualification, and launch
• Define operation steps in ERP and ensure traceability
• Conduct cycle time analysis and implement improvements
• Ensure end-to-end production readiness and line support
• Define best practices for handling mechanical hardware and electronics
• Use SPC and quality data analysis to detect out-of-control processes and take corrective actions
• Present data-driven proposals to leadership
