Job summary

Ontic is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for its Chatsworth, CA facility. You will own defined design tasks across NPI and sustainment, turning requirements into practical, reliable solutions while coordinating with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.

You’ll handle redesigns due to obsolescence, support prototypes, and manage controlled changes to ensure long‑term product availability. Occasional travel to support engineering and business needs is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience in design engineering or technical support in design/manufacturing.
• Experience creating/managing CAD models and engineered drawings for mech or electro‑mechanical products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify electrical/electromechanical product designs meeting functionality and lifecycle requirements.
• Investigate performance, obsolescence, and component availability; propose design solutions.
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and data with configuration control.
