Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an onsite role in Madison, Alabama. You will design, implement, and optimize end-to-end manufacturing processes for airframe integration and avionics assembly, while leading quality systems and DFM/DFA initiatives.

The position requires hands-on ERP/MES experience, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to improve yield and reduce variability in high-reliability production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt with practical experience.
• Experience with ERP or MES implementations (SAP, Oracle, Plex).
• Knowledge of PFMEA and Control Plans.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize end-to-end manufacturing flows for airframe integration and avionics assembly.
• Lead the deployment of AS9100 or ISO9001 quality standards on the shop floor.
• Establish FAI protocols for complex electrical assemblies.
• Bridge between R&D and Production focusing on DFM/DFA and repeatability.
• Drive DFM and DFA initiatives to reduce defects and cycle times.
• Monitor production data to improve yield and reduce variability.
• Lead MRB process for nonconformances and corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for automation in testing and assembly.
• Develop, update, and maintain work instructions and tooling requirements.
• Apply lean and continuous improvement to eliminate waste.
