Job summary

Hawthorn Aero seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to expand manufacturing capabilities and support new product introductions across departments in Dayton/Miamisburg, OH. The role focuses on improving processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring quality from design through production.

Responsibilities include documenting procedures, training technicians, and leading cost analysis and capital justification. A BS in engineering and 5+ years’ related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
• Negative drug screen and favorable background check.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Office.

Responsibilities

• Create, document, and troubleshoot processes for complex composite manufacturing.
• Oversee resin transfer molding, mold prep, oven setup and programming.
• Monitor process parameters (temperature, time, pressure) and ensure product readiness.
• Ensure quality, proper packing, and on-time delivery.
• Identify problems with machinery and collaborate with engineering for solutions.
• Develop continuous improvement programs focusing on productivity and quality.
• Train technicians and personnel; create/update work instructions.
• Source quotes and evaluate equipment/tools with vendors.
• Plan workforce utilization and layout for maximum efficiency.
• Evaluate methods and quality standards (ISO9000, Nadcap, Six Sigma, FMEA).
• Confer with vendors and internal resources to arrange for purchase and installation of equipment.
