Job summary

BARNES AEROSPACE in East Granby, CT is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop 3D models of jet engine component assemblies using NX CAD and SolidWorks. You will create operation sheets, establish tooling and process specifications, and coordinate with shop personnel to meet customer requirements.

The role requires 5+ years in aerospace or manufacturing, strong CAD skills, and the ability to read blueprints and write clear technical documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the aerospace industry or general manufacturing.
• Proficient in NX CAD; working knowledge of SolidWorks is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence; present to groups.
• Strong manufacturing background with multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Titanium, Stainless Steel and Inconel materials is a plus.
• Familiarity with inspection methods such as FPI, MPI, and X-ray.
• Welding knowledge is desirable.
• Machinist experience is a plus; comfortable on the shop floor.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models of assemblies and components in NX and SolidWorks.
• Generate operation sheets and work instructions from 3D models.
• Oversee NX standards and configuration.
• Create routing, BOM and item cards in ERP system.
• Develop milestones and project plans to keep tasks on track.
• Track parts through shop to avoid issues.
• Collaborate with shop personnel on process development.
• Support tool design as needed.
• Provide engineering support to customers and vendors.
• Participate in root cause analysis and CI projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
