Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services seeks an Audit & Cost Accounting Specialist to support a manufacturing/aerospace operation in New Britain, CT. This indefinite temporary role offers potential to become permanent and starts ASAP. You will perform inventory reconciliations, cost accounting analyses, and provide manufacturing‑related financial insights to support audits.

Qualifications

Audit experience in public accounting, external audit, or internal audit.
Hands-on cost accounting experience.
Manufacturing industry experience required.
Experience with inventory accounting and inventory audit support.
Strong account reconciliation and balance sheet analysis skills.
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
Experience supporting year-end audits.
Strong Excel skills.
U.S. Citizenship required due to aerospace/government regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide audit support for year-end and other financial audit activities.
Perform inventory reconciliations and support inventory audit procedures.
Assist with cost accounting, costing analysis, and manufacturing‑related financial analysis.
Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis.
Research and resolve discrepancies between financial and operational records.
Support preparation and documentation for external and internal audits.
Ensure accounting activities and reporting are consistent with U.S. GAAP.
Assist with additional accounting and audit projects as needed.
