Job summary

Integra-Cast in New Britain, CT is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join our finance team. You will manage month-end closes, cost analysis, budgeting, and inventory valuation to support GAAP reporting and operational decisions.

The role requires 5–7 years in cost accounting, a Bachelor’s in Accounting, and strong Excel and analytical skills. Aerospace/defense experience is preferred. You will partner with production and accounting to optimize costs and cash flow.

**SUMMARY:**SummaryIntegra-Cast is an Aerospace manufacturing company in New Britain, Connecticut. Responsible for performing various accounting functions, including monthly close procedures, invoicing, billing, accounts payable management/processing, cash flow management, forecasting, cost accounting, and payroll. Prepare analyses as well as accounting reports according to GAAP. A key catalyst for operating and production capabilities through timely provision of support as well as partner with operational leadership. Position reports to the Controller.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:******Completes month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, updating financial results, and preparing reporting packages with accuracy and expediencyAssesses and analyzes the cost structure of the business, including production expenses, overhead, and inventory valuation.Develops and maintains budgets, ensuring that all costs are accounted for and aligned with organizational goals.Work closely with other accounting and finance professionals, as well as department heads, to support financial planning and operational improvements.Support the annual external financial statement audit processProvides technical advice and guidance according to Federal/State regulations and GAAPPrepares regular reports on cost efficiency and profitability, providing insights to management for informed decision-making, as well as provides job cost analysis as requiredMaintains job cost ledger and ensures accuracy of the data flow from payroll, PO receiving, and other direct costsMonitors inventory accuracy and conducts regular audits to ensure proper valuation and reporting of inventory costs.Fixed Assets/Capital Expenditures**ADDITIONAL DUTIES:******Review, approve, and record invoices and accruals related to purchasesLiaise with production to record and invoice shipments of orders as they occurManage cash flow and capital expenditures to ensure appropriate liquidityIdentify and record necessary journal entries that arise throughout the accounting periodSupport specific strategic priorities and projects across the business, including financial statement close process optimization, technological modernization, and operational redesignEffective management and timely performance of recurring activitiesProficiency in managing cash flow position and effectively reporting to leadershipIdentification and implementation of value-add projects and processesResponsiveness to internal stakeholders and issues impacting the business**EDUCATION REQUIRED:**Bachelor’s degree in Accounting******EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required for success in this role, as well as strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills5-7 years of accounting experience with a focus on cost accounting preferred, ideally in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industriesStrong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and identify cost-saving opportunitiesMust be proficient in Microsoft Excel, particularly with skills related to summarizing and analyzing dataPHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:****Ability to sit and perform repetitive tasks for extended periodsThis role requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
