Job summary

CMI Group seeks a skilled Manual Machinist for our Phoenix facility on the night shift. You will set up and operate manual mills, lathes, grinders and drill presses to produce aerospace-grade parts within tight tolerances, reading GD&T and blueprints and preparing fixtures.

This role requires a High School diploma or trade instruction, the ability to work 40+ hours, lift up to 20 pounds, stand most of the shift, and maintain a clean, safe workspace. U.S.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or trade school training.
• Authorized to work in the US (citizenship or permanent residency).
• Able to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses to manufacture aerospace-grade parts within tolerances.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T specs, and blueprints; design and fabricate fixtures and tooling.
• Perform precision inspections with micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMMs or optical comparators.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve machining methods and manufacturability.
• Maintain ISO AS9100 standards, ITAR compliance, PPE, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Keep work areas clean and organized; ensure proper use of tools and equipment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in machining processes.
