Job summary

CMI Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Manual Machinist - Night Shift to set up and operate manual mills, lathes and grinders, producing aerospace-grade parts.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or trade school.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual equipment (mills, lathes, surface and cylindrical grinders, drill presses) to machine metallic or composite parts to aerospace tolerances.
• Interpret assembly drawings, GD&T specifications and blueprints, design, fabricate, and set customer fixtures and tooling.
• Perform precise inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMMs, or optical comparators, ensuring part compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering to refine machining methods, offer feedback on manufacturability, update control data.
• Adhere to ISO AS9100 standards, ITAR protocols, PPE use, and lockout/tagout.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas; ensure proper use and care of equipment and tools.
• Support continuous improvement activities related to machining processes and workflow.

Shift: Night shift - 20% Differential Pay

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setup and operate manual equipment (mills, lathes, surface and cylindrical grinders, drill presses) to machine metallic or composite parts to aerospace tolerances


• Interpret assembly drawings, GD&D specifications and blueprints, design, fabricate, and set customer fixtures and tooling


• Perform precise inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMMs, or optical comparators, ensuring part compliance
