Job summary

GTC is hiring a Machine Maintenance Technician for aerospace and defense manufacturing. You will keep CNC and manual machines running, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot electrical and control diagnostics to maximize uptime.

The role offers real ownership through our Ownership For All program and a 25% night shift differential on second shift, with flexibility for extended hours or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of hands-on maintenance on manual and CNC machines.
• Strong mechanical knowledge: bearings, gears, pumps, hydraulics.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and basic electrical schematics.
• Proficient with digital voltmeters and oscilloscopes for troubleshooting.
• Familiar with CNC controls — Siemens, Fanuc, Heidenhain.

Responsibilities

• Maintain manual and CNC machines to meet production and quality goals.
• Diagnose and repair equipment quickly to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance to prevent line shutdowns.
• Read drawings and rebuild components with confidence.
• Use measurement tools to align machines to spec.
• Troubleshoot electrical schematics and control diagnostics.
• Work with CNC control diagnostics to resolve issues.
• Check linear accuracy with laser tools and Renishaw ball bar.
• Order parts and coordinate with service providers as needed.
• Maintain maintenance records and identify process improvements.
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to keep lines running.
