Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Berea, OH is seeking a maintenance mechanic to troubleshoot, repair and maintain industrial machinery. You will rebuild machines to original specs, work with CNCs, punch presses and spot-welding equipment, and coordinate with Eng and Production teams to resolve issues.

The role emphasizes preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime, record keeping, and following prints and procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
Able to fabricate, weld, or machine parts as needed.
Knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting including power transmission, fluid power, and pneumatics.
Able to read, write, and understand specifications, procedures, and prints.
Capable of working from verbal instructions and on close-tolerance equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all types of industrial machinery, equipment and systems.
Rebuild or repair machines or assemblies to original operating conditions.
Familiar with CNC machines, punch presses, and spot-welding equipment.
Coordinate with Engineering, Tool Room, Production Leads or vendors on repair problems.
Perform equipment failure analyses including preventative and unscheduled maintenance.
Plan and implement preventative and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime.
Keep neat, orderly records and order spare parts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
