Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Berea, OH is seeking a maintenance mechanic to troubleshoot, repair and maintain industrial machinery. You will rebuild machines to original specs, work with CNCs, punch presses and spot-welding equipment, and coordinate with Eng and Production teams to resolve issues.

The role emphasizes preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime, record keeping, and following prints and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
• Able to fabricate, weld, or machine parts as needed.
• Knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting including power transmission, fluid power, and pneumatics.
• Able to read, write, and understand specifications, procedures, and prints.
• Capable of working from verbal instructions and on close-tolerance equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all types of industrial machinery, equipment and systems.
• Rebuild or repair machines or assemblies to original operating conditions.
• Familiar with CNC machines, punch presses, and spot-welding equipment.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Tool Room, Production Leads or vendors on repair problems.
• Perform equipment failure analyses including preventative and unscheduled maintenance.
• Plan and implement preventative and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Keep neat, orderly records and order spare parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Mechanically troubleshoot, repair and maintain all types of industrial machinery, equipment and systems
• Capable of rebuilding or repairing machines or assemblies to original operating conditions
• Familiar with CNC machines, punch presses, and spot-welding equipment
• Responsible for project management work and/or documentation of product equipment or processes
• Communicate, discuss, and/or review repair problems with Engineering, the Tool Room, Production Team Leads or vendors as needed
• Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventative and unscheduled maintenance)
• Plan and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment up time
• Keep neat orderly records and order spare parts
• Perform other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications

• Must have some knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting including power transmission, fluid power, and pneumatics
• Ability to read, write, and understand written specifications, procedures, and prints
• Ability to design and execute from verbal instructions
• Must possess good mechanical aptitude and have the ability to work on close-tolerance equipment and/or parts
• Ability to use various measuring devices (torque wrench, micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial indicators etc.)
• Must be able to use math to calculate dimensions and determine equipment setups
