FDH Aero in Santa Clarita, CA is seeking a Machine Operator II. This role operates low-to-mid complexity machinery under moderate supervision, performs routine maintenance, and assists in training new operators to ensure high-quality output.

You will read technical drawings to understand machining requirements, gain a basic understanding of G-code, handle aerospace materials, conduct in-process inspections, and maintain a clean, safe, organized workspace while following all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery or manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate low-to-mid complexity machinery following standard instructions and adjust settings for minor variations.
• Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshoot basic machine issues to ensure continuous operation.
• Assist in training new operators on standard machine operations, providing hands-on guidance and demonstrating proper setup and safety procedures.
• Read and comprehended technical drawings to understand machining requirements and ensure alignment with production goals.
• Develop a basic understanding of G-code programming to support machine setup and minor adjustments.
• Gain basic material knowledge of aerospace materials to select appropriate inputs for specific machining tasks.
• Conduct in-process inspections to monitor product quality, identifying issues and reporting them promptly.
• Assist in loading and unloading raw materials into machines, verifying quantities and types against documentation under moderate oversight.
• Clean and maintain equipment under moderate supervision and troubleshoot any issues that arise to a lead or supervisor.
• Utilize basic computer skills to enter data into production systems and access work orders as guided by supervisors.
• Maintain an organized work area by keeping aisles clear, properly storing materials, and adhering to safety and organizational standards.
