Job summary

Vaupell in Everett, WA is seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist to drive Lean and Six Sigma on the shop floor across plastic molding, assembly, and painting operations. You will lead kaizen events, develop standard work, and track KPI performance like FPY and OTD while partnering with quality, engineering, and operations to deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, and cost.

This hands-on role requires 2–4 years of CI experience, a Six Sigma Green Belt, and a BS in an engineering

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related technical field.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification with DMAIC application.
  • Hands-on, shop-floor leadership and strong communication skills.
  • US Person status may be required for ITAR/EAR compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate kaizen events and Gemba walks to eliminate waste and improve flow.
  • Lead structured problem solving using A3, 5-Why, RCCA, and fishbone analysis.
  • Implement improvements hands-on on the production floor with operators.
  • Track and manage CI projects and KPIs (FPY, OTD, defects, scrap).
  • Develop and monitor standard work and 6S, with visual management.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, and engineering to sustain gains.
