Job summary

RTX is seeking a Survey and Repair Technician I for the Opa Locka, Florida facility. This 100% onsite role involves inspecting landing gear components, documenting condition, and performing repairs and tests to meet specifications.

The position operates on the second shift with potential overtime. Requires a HS diploma or equivalent; preferred qualifications include a Repairman Certificate or A&P license. Benefits include comprehensive medical, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and more.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline

Responsibilities

• Inspects Landing Gear components for damage
• Records the condition / dimensions with the objective to determine repair and overhaul requirements, per overhaul manuals and customer requirements
• Assembles fabricated parts, components or units at floor stations
• Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
• Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications
• Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels; repairs as necessary
• Responsible for performing complete operation checkouts, modifications, disassembly, repairs, reassembly, test calibrations, diagnoses, and correction of problems
• Follows repair and return processes to ensure high quality and short cycle time of repair and return
• Sets up necessary repair and test facilities
• May be required to complete an apprenticeship or training
