Job summary

RTX, a leading global aerospace and defense company, seeks a Survey and Repair technician III for the Opa Locka, Florida facility. The role is 100% onsite, with first shift hours and overtime as needed, performing overhaul, rework, repair and related operations on aircraft equipment.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of relevant experience; repair certifications such as Repairman Certificate or A & P License are preferred.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspects Landing Gear components for damage
• Records the condition / dimensions with the objective to determine repair and overhaul requirements, per overhaul manuals and customer requirements
• Assembles fabricated parts, components or units at floor stations
• Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
• Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications
• Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels; repairs as necessary
• Responsible for performing complete operation checkouts, modifications, disassembly, repairs, reassembly, test calibrations, diagnoses, and correction of problems
• Follows repair and return processes to ensure high quality and short cycle time of repair and return
• Sets up necessary repair and test facilities
• May be required to complete an apprenticeship or training
