Performs laboratory tests to determine mechanical and physical characteristics of rubber materials for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development by performing the following duties.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such as tensile testing machine, hardness tester, specific gravity tester, MDR, Oven and other equipment.
  • Perform materials testing on organics, rubbers and other products for physical and mechanical properties including specific gravity, hardness, tensile strength, elongation, viscosity, melting or flash point, etc.
  • Report test results per materials testing specifications and generate test reports.
  • Others duties may be required as assigned by lab lead and manager

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 - 3 Year's experience as a lab technician in aerospace
  • Knowledge of industrial materials specifications.
  • Ability to operate lab equipment including tensile testing machines (Instron, Alpha or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines in fast paced environment
  • Intermediate skills in working with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities.
