Job summary

Columbus Technologies and Services is seeking a lab technician in Pasadena, CA for a 12-month contract onsite. Responsibilities include maintaining lab workflows, preparing surfaces, operating thermal chambers, and coordinating with QA for inspections.

Must have aviation/aerospace exposure and CAD familiarity, with strong attention to safety and documentation. The role requires reading engineering drawings and following procedures, with full benefits under a W2 arrangement and background/drug

Qualifications

High School diploma with 6 years related experience or Associate's with 1 year related experience.
Ability to read and interpret dimensions from engineering drawings and CAD models.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, organized workspace with proper chemical storage and traceability of consumables.
Perform surface preparation, including cleaning, masking, and abrading.
Operate thermal chambers for heat treatment and environmental testing.
Operate mechanical test equipment and process data using analysis software.
Ensure adherence to hardware handling practices during painting and curing.
Coordinate with QA to inspect, verify, and validate inspection needs.
Provide labor estimates and communicate schedule or cost impacts to projects.
Plan testing activities with lab leads, technicians, and engineers.
