Job summary

DuPont’s Vespel® business within Aerospace & Industrials seeks a lab technician to support testing and material development at the Valley View Plant, Valley View, Ohio. You will work with TS&D and R&D to ensure timely results and quality data.

The role involves mechanical, thermal, and wear testing, data reporting, adherence to test methods, and collaboration with TS&D, Operations, and external testers to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to work in a fast pace environment.
• Demonstrates initiative, drive and ability to follow through on tasks and timelines.
• Must read and interpret technical documents, customer specifications and test reports.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and strong communication skills.
• Experience in a lab environment with listed testing equipment (MTS Load Frames, Perkin Elemer TMA, TGA, DMA).

• Conduct application specific, mechanical, thermal, and friction & wear tests.
• Report data and store per internal guidance.
• Adhere to Test Methods and Industry test standards.
• Support R&D on material development testing.
• Support TS&D and Operations on failure analysis and material characterization.
• Lead and coordinate external testing requests.
• Prepare data with guidance from TS&D for product literature and sales tools.
