Job summary

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) is seeking an Instrument Technician to support TOS II at Arnold AFB in Tennessee. The position involves calibrating and repairing instruments used in aeronautical tests and research, within a team focused on Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

The candidate will work any shift as required, with duties including instrument calibration, troubleshooting, and interfacing with computers and recording devices in a lab or field environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Four years of progressive experience in technical instrumentation with six months’ schooling in electronics or instrumentation field.
• In-depth knowledge of operational characteristics of laboratory test instruments.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to follow and give directions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and the AEDC network.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Modify, fabricate, maintain, repair, and calibrate a wide range of mechanical, optical, electrical, and electronic indicating and recording instruments and precision measuring equipment.
• Perform diagnostic and troubleshooting activities on instrument control systems.
• Connect instruments to computers and recording devices.
• Adjust and calibrate instruments for new or extended uses.
• Assist in servicing and adjusting computers, microprocessors, and peripheral devices.
• Work primarily in laboratory or field equipment environments.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians.
