Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Whitehall, MI, is seeking an Injection Press Specialist for our new Core Plant. You will support forming processes, manage yield improvements, and assist engineering projects related to ceramic cores for aerospace components.

Daily duties include reviewing scrap and productivity data, conducting engineering trials, performing root-cause analyses, and coordinating with tooling, maintenance, and quality teams to sustain production.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in an engineering discipline OR significant related manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment (injection molding, forming, die setting) OR 2 years with Howmet experience.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily review of scrap and productivity losses and prepare reports.
• Conduct engineering trials under the guidance of an engineer or engineering team.
• Assist Engineering with root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions.
• Respond to level 3 help chains to reinstate production flow.
• Work with dimensional on core dimensions and PM301s, studies, etc.
• Work with layout on gauge or cores gauging issues.
• Work with C3D on core and tooling issues.
• Assure product compliance to customer requirements.
• Assist manufacturing and quality on engineering or technical issues.
• Compile and analyze product data using SPC and generate reports.
• Support engineering with developing and maintaining activity instructions and specifications.
