Job summary

i3 Assembly, LLC in Binghamton, NY is seeking an Injection Mold Operator 1 to support aerospace manufacturing. You will learn setup, operation, monitoring, and documentation of molding equipment under supervision and established controls.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to AS9100 standards, with a 2nd shift and 40-hour baseline. Prior experience is not required; training is provided to develop process proficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or manufacturing training preferred.
• Experience in molding, assembly, or aerospace manufacturing environments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate injection molding equipment following approved work instructions, process sheets, and production schedules.
• Assist with mold setup, tooling preparation, material loading, and machine operation under supervision.
• Monitor molding cycles and production processes to ensure consistent part quality and process compliance.
• Remove molded components from machines and perform trimming, cleaning, and basic finishing operations as required.
• Follow approved handling procedures for raw materials, resins, inserts, and molded product.
• Notify supervisors or leads of process deviations, material concerns, or equipment issues.
• Perform basic in-process and visual inspections using approved inspection criteria and measuring tools.
• Accurately complete production documentation, inspection records, and traceability paperwork.
• Verify material identification, lot numbers, and work order information throughout production operations.
• Report defects, nonconformances, or quality concerns to supervisors, Quality, or Engineering personnel as appropriate.
• Support compliance with AS9100 and internal quality system requirements.
• Participate in on-the-job training and departmental cross-training activities.
• Work closely with experienced operators, leads, and supervisors to develop process knowledge and manufacturing proficiency.
• Support teamwork and departmental flexibility based on production needs.
• Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures.
