Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is hiring a Harness Technician to join the Avionics Test team in a cleanroom environment.

You will fabricate, assemble, modify, and repair complex electrical wire harnesses for spacecraft avionics, using schematics and engineering drawings to ensure aerospace workmanship standards. You will perform precision crimping, soldering, shielding, and termination, while inspecting harnesses with test equipment and maintaining traceable records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in satellite or spacecraft assembly & integration
• Certification in NASA-STD-8739 or IPC-J-STD-001 (Space Addendum)
• Expert-level ability to read electrical schematics and 3D CAD models
• Experience with high-density connectors (Micro-D, Nano-D, Circular Mil-Spec)
• Familiarity with aerospace quality standards & processes
• Knowledge of vacuum-compatible materials and outgassing prevention
• Working knowledge of precision measurement tools used in space hardware
• Ability to collaborate with engineers in a team environment
• Strong safety discipline and adherence to procedures
• Extremely detail-focused in a high-stakes environment

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, route and terminate complex aerospace harnesses from engineering drawings
• Perform high-quality crimping, soldering, shielding, and connectorization across aerospace wires
• Inspect and test harnesses for continuity, insulation resistance and pinout accuracy
• Diagnose wiring issues and perform repairs and rework per workmanship standards
• Interpret wiring diagrams and maintain accurate as-built and build logs
• Follow cleanroom and ESD procedures during harness fabrication
• Collaborate with engineers to improve manufacturability and assembly processes
