Socket.dev is seeking a Composite Technician to support fabrication, assembly, and repair of composite structures for AIRO production operations. You will perform hands-on tasks including material preparation, layup, curing, trimming, and inspection under supervision, ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on composite manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with aerospace or AS9100 environments preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform composite layup, vacuum bagging, curing, and trimming operations using prepreg and/or wet layup materials in accordance with work instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, ply schedules, and technical documentation to execute manufacturing processes accurately.
• Prepare molds and tooling, including cleaning, release application, and setup.
• Cut, label, and stage composite materials with proper batch and lot traceability.
• Assist in constructing vacuum bag assemblies and perform basic leak checks prior to cure.
• Operate curing equipment (ovens and/or autoclaves) following established parameters and supervision as needed.
• Inspect components for defects and report quality concerns to leadership.
• Perform trimming, drilling, bonding, and finishing of composite parts as required.
• Maintain accurate production documentation, including travelers and material tracking.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Support team objectives and production schedules as directed by leadership.
