Job summary

Amazon Science in Redmond is seeking a Guidance, Navigation & Control engineer to design algorithms, simulations, and onboard autonomy that keep satellites precisely pointed and stable to deliver fast, reliable internet from orbit.

You will own the full lifecycle from concept to flight, developing state estimation, attitude determination, and control algorithms, and writing production C++ flight code that runs on the spacecraft.

Qualifications

• PhD, or Master’s degree and 4+ years of quantitative field research experience
• Experience developing guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for aerospace systems.

Responsibilities

• Take GNC algorithms from concept to orbit and stay with them through integration, test, and on-orbit operations
• Solve precise-pointing, payload-cueing, and fleet-autonomy problems against demanding performance requirements
• Work across the full lifecycle — design, simulation, test, and flight operations — rather than a narrow slice
• Join a small team of top GNC engineers building a product customers will love to use
