Job summary

GAL AeroStaff is seeking an experienced Complex Embedded Logic & Digital Electronics Design Engineer to support aerospace engine control systems in West Hartford, CT. You will design and develop FPGA, PLD, ASIC, and related digital hardware for actuator controls, sensor interfaces, and power conditioning applications.

The role requires 3+ years in FPGA/PLD design, aerospace experience preferred, and collaboration with multi‑discipline engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 3 years FPGA/PLD design experience
• Experience with aerospace electronics or engine control preferred
• Experience designing digital circuits with analog interfaces
• Experience with ASICs, FPGAs, PLDs, or complex hardware
• Knowledge of RTCA DO-254 preferred
• Experience with aerospace certification or design‑assurance preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and develop FPGA, PLD, ASIC, and complex digital electronic hardware
• Develop product requirements, allocate design requirements, and perform compliance assessments
• Create block diagrams, design concepts, and circuit topologies for FPGA, PLD, digital, and analog interfaces
• Perform design analyses, modeling, and simulations
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across electrical, systems, software, mechanical, and project management
• Prepare for internal and customer audits, design reviews, and certification activities
