Job summary

Unknown company is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer focused on mechanical hardware and fasteners for Starship. You will own the hardware commodity end-to-end, coordinating suppliers, processes, and quality controls to ensure reliability for high-cadence flight hardware.

The role involves shop floor work, heat treat and coating lines, metrology labs, and design reviews. Ideal candidates have manufacturing depth and a drive to resolve difficult problems impacting flight manifest reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of manufacturing engineering or supplier development experience.
• Hands-on familiarity with mechanical fasteners and hardware.
• Experience with aerospace fastener standards (NAS, AN, MS, ASTM, AMS) preferred.
• Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FAIR, control plans, PFMEA, MSA.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical hardware commodity for Starship: Fasteners, Dynamic Hardware and Fluid Control from supplier selection through rate production.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned parts and suppliers; resolve emergent manufacturing, quality, and capacity issues.
• Lead new product introduction (NPI) and work transfers for fastener and hardware products: qualify suppliers, validate processes, ramp production.
