Job summary

Votaw Precision Technologies, LLC in Los Angeles is seeking a seasoned Purchases/Estimating professional. You will read complex prints (GD&T), develop costed BOMs, and manage supplier quotes for aerospace components.

The role requires coordinating with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping to align delivery with production. Responsibilities include pre-award estimation, post-award purchasing, supplier performance evaluation, and ensuring ITAR/DFARS compliance across processes.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years in purchasing, estimating, materials management, or a related supply chain role in an aerospace machining/job-shop environment.
• Proficiency reading complex prints and specifications (including GD&T) and identifying material callouts and special process requirements.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace materials (aluminum, titanium, stainless, nickel alloys/exotics) and outside-processing methods.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems; working knowledge of BOM structure and demand signals.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills and vendor management; strong communication, organization, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Analyze 2D/3D drawings to determine material type, form, sizes, quantities, and yield; perform material takeoffs for prototypes and low-rate production.
• Identify outside processes and develop cost estimates and schedule assumptions; solicit and analyze supplier quotes.
• Issue POs for materials and services; coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping/Receiving to meet schedules.
• Coordinate with suppliers/processors; manage remnant inventory and ensure traceability and documentation.
