Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Engineer to manage compliance and air programs at the Vandenberg site in California. The role requires coordinating with regulators, preparing filings, and maintaining HMMP/HMBP documentation while working with engineers and operations teams.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in environmental programs, with strong communication and problem-solving skills for a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance programs in industrial, aerospace, DoD, or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of EPA, RCRA, DOT, CUPA, RWQCB and related regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain environmental programs at SpaceX’s Vandenberg location.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, RCRA, DOT, CUPA, RWQCB, SBCAPCD and related policies.
• Prepare and submit Tier II and TRI filings; archive calculations and submissions.
• Maintain HMMP/HMBP, CUPA inventories and Tier II inputs.
• Coordinate permitting activities and environmental testing; review records.
• Support NEPA documentation and environmental monitoring duties.
• Drive corrective actions with operations, facilities and launch stakeholders.
