Job summary

Loft Federal in Colorado is seeking a Senior Manager of Engineering to lead the engineering organization’s growth and execution. You will build and resource teams, manage functional engineering leaders, and drive staffing to meet mission milestones in the aerospace sector.

You will mentor engineers, scale high-performing teams, and align technical talent with complex programmatic needs, partnering with program managers and executives.

Qualifications

• 10 years of professional engineering experience with 3+ years in engineering management or leadership.
• Strong understanding of complex systems integration, hardware/software lifecycles, and performance analysis.
• Exceptional cross-functional communication bridging engineering, program management, and leadership.
• Proven track record scaling engineering teams including sourcing and closing technical candidates.
• Experience in matrixed organizations or programmatic environments with resource planning.
• High emotional intelligence with a servant-leadership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own functional management and strategic direction for cross-functional engineering teams.
• Provide mentorship, career development, and performance management.
• Define hiring roadmap for 6–12+ months and participate in interviewing.
