Description

Command Post Technologies, Inc. is hiring for a senior-level position in finite element modeling for complex structural analysis. In this role, you will develop meshes and models, conduct analyses using local and DoD high-performance computing systems, and evaluate component and system failure modes. You will also be responsible for calculating structural margins, performing trade studies on various loading conditions and materials, and presenting your findings. The role offers opportunities to collaborate with a national team, support test events, lead analysis projects, and contribute to new technologies and capabilities. Prior experience with high-speed aerospace structures or Sandia National Lab's SIERRA tool suite is a plus but not required.

Clearance: Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI (TS/SCI) is required.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Perform high-fidelity computational physics analysis using finite element software tools to assess the structural survivability of hypersonic weapon concepts and test hardware.
  2. Engage with national teams supporting the development and fielding of new weapon concepts and provide computational modeling expertise.
  3. Generate briefing materials, documentation, reports, and other artifacts to inform programmatic and design decisions.

Requirements

  1. Work is on-site.
  2. Must have a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mathematics, computer engineering, or a related discipline with relevant experience.
  4. 3-10+ years of relevant experience.
  5. Ability to work as part of a team, develop solutions through research and discussion.
  6. Proficiency with structural and/or coupled fluid-thermal-structural analysis techniques.
  7. Ability to plan and coordinate individual and team assignments.
  8. Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  9. Understanding of computational mesh generation principles and proficiency with mesh generation tools.
  10. Experience with finite element, finite volume, or finite difference solvers (Sierra Solid Mechanics or Abaqus preferred).
  11. Experience with high-performance computing resources, composite materials, high-temperature effects, or failure modes.
