Job summary

NAVAIR is seeking an Aerospace Engineer (Subsystems) within the Fleet Support Team (FST) Department of FLTREADCEN Southeast. The role focuses on applying engineering expertise to complex Naval aircraft systems and ensuring readiness across acquisition, test, and in-service support.

You will lead technical analyses, prescribe corrective actions for air vehicle deficiencies, and mentor others while driving reliability, maintainability, and safety improvements.

• Identify, evaluate and prescribe corrective action for air vehicle deficiencies to improve reliability, maintainability, survivability and safety.
• Provide technical oversight to ensure latest engineering developments are applied in work planning.
• Apply new developments and judgment to solve highly complex technical problems.
• Serve as a technical expert for the most complex mechanical systems.

You will serve as an AEROSPACE ENGINEER (Subsystems) in the FLEET SUPPORT TEAM (FST) DEPT of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will plan, coordinate, conduct and/or provide extensive engineering expertise while supporting acquisition, science and technology, test and evaluation, and/or in-service engineering on complex Naval aircraft and/or associated systems.
• You will identify, evaluate and prescribe corrective action for air vehicle deficiencies/incidents of significant proportions reported through appropriate reporting systems to improve reliability, maintainability, survivability, safety and economy.
• You will provide technical professional expertise and oversight to ensure the latest advancements in engineering technology are considered and implemented in work planning.
• You will apply new developments and experienced judgment to solve a variety of highly complex technical problems.
• You will serve as a technical expert and perform extensive and varied combinations of duties associated with the most complex systems, specifically mechanical systems.
