Job summary

Naval Air Systems Command in California seeks an Aerospace Engineer for the Research & Development Group. The role focuses on weapon system modeling and simulation, data analysis, and technical reporting to support test and evaluation activities.

The candidate will operate in a Linux environment, configure simulations, analyze results, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Experience in defense-related engineering and formal reporting is preferred.

Job description

You will serve as a AEROSPACE ENGINEER in the RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT GROUP, WEAPONS & ENERGETICS DEPT, WEAPONS MS&A DIV, WEAPONS DISTRIBUTED SIMULATION BR of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band (DP-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer.

Specialized experience is defined as the following:

  • 1) Participating in weapon system test and evaluation (T&E) events utilizing Modeling and Simulation (M&S) tools or specialized simulation suites;
  • 2) Operating within a Linux environment to configure, execute, or troubleshoot simulation runs or data reduction scripts;
  • 3) Conducting quantitative data analysis of simulation runs to evaluate, characterize, or validate weapon system performance against established mission threads;
  • 4) Preparing, drafting, or delivering technical reports, briefs, or analytical documentation to communicate test results to team members or stakeholders.
