Job summary

Simmonds Precision in Vergennes, Vermont, is seeking an Engineering Lab Supervisor to lead our EMI and environmental testing labs. You will manage a team of technicians, ensure calibration and maintenance of specialized equipment, and enforce aerospace standards (AS9100) and OSHA/EHS protocols.

You will partner with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to plan tests, document results, and drive continuous improvement in lab operations and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical field (or hands-on equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years in an engineering lab or manufacturing test environment; at least 2 years in leadership.
• Direct experience in aerospace/defense/aviation preferred.
• Understanding of DAQ, calibration protocols, and DO-160/MIL-STD-810 testing.
• Ability to generate basis of estimate for lab efforts on new programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free lab and manage workflow and testing schedules.
• Supervise and develop a team of lab technicians to high performance.
• Enforce OSHA and EHS protocols and safety standards.
• Oversee calibration, maintenance, and procurement of testing equipment and instrumentation.
• Oversee environmental and EMI equipment and lab environments to ensure test readiness.
• Ensure all activities align with AS9100 and rigorous documentation.
